The greenest city in China, Dongtan (which is located near Shanghai), will have its first condos and commercial space for sale in the market by 2010. A bridge and tunnel to get residents to Shanghai airport and financial district will also be built. By 2050, the city is estimated to be populated by 500,000 residents. The city’s build will also be used to test the theory that it can get greener as it develops. Feel like a dream? I hope the theory will be proven so that many cities can follow and learn from China.
