Use earth bag

Sunday, June 28th, 2009

This is the information I get from a go-green website. The site introduce a product of bag that is environmentally-friendly. I know nowadays such bags are sold anywhere in the store. But the article is also written to encourage the world for using such bags. For many people are still shopping with plastic bags regardless of those so many marketed in public places. Why not use reusable bag? For additional information, the bags offered in this site are made of recycled cotton that has perfect selection and appropriate size for your usage. There are also 100% biodegradable and earth-friendly waste bags. They are priced around $4.75, not expensive at all for reuse purpose and particularly for our earth. Read more here.

Environmental problems in Asia

Monday, June 22nd, 2009

This is an article I found in a site that encourages people to go green. I have read some posts until I saw this one, it is for Asia, the continent I live at for my whole life. It’s written by Lilian, who voices six environmental problems throughout Asia in her writing. The economic policies are said to have encouraged growth in some sectors while ignoring the destruction in others. There is exploitation in certain sectors. Yet, the governments don’t take any further actions to the exploited resources. Ms. Lilian also discusses about the social costs, which keeps piling up and can not be easily-compensated by any rate of growth when it comes to environment. If you want to know the environmental problems, they are: urban excess, deforestation, over fishing, global warming, air pollution, and the limited supply of safe water.

Save the water

Monday, June 22nd, 2009

I get inspired by an article by Lilian that talks about the importance to save water. Do you know that our supply of clean water is decreasing? Do you know that in some other parts of the world people have been really tight with water use? It’s just a luck that I still have “unlimited” supply of clean water. Just lucky, the article is telling you that clean water is now a scarce resource.

If you use the water the same way you used a decade ago, you should change it. The article provides many good and simple daily tips for your daily water saving, included those you can do at work place. And do you know that it spreads? By saving water you are giving good example to your surrounding: friends, colleagues, neighbors, and also your children who are going to live on earth when you are passed away.

Save the energy

Monday, June 22nd, 2009

Besides encouraging us to save water, Lilian also suggests energy saving in her other post. Energy conservation is not of less importance. And just like we all experience, saving energy is much easier than saving the water. But it’s not an excuse because we just have to get accustomed. When it comes to energy, Lilian says that what we have to do is only to think of wiser ways to use them. Don’t leave unused or unnecessary electronics turned on, use environmentally-friendly devices for cooking or do the housework, design a home that lets in natural lighting and wind, and so many else. Evaluate your energy usage, and you will find many clues. Go to the article to find many applicable tips. It can be a good start.
