I found this post by Ian Scott in Jade Meng’s blog. It’s about his life that’s full of reaching the dreams. When he was young, he dreamed about visiting many other countries. Now he has visited 94 countries. He says the list is not yet finished because he wants to save some for later. He routinely keeps a diary for every year beginning, specifying the lists of countries to visit, books to read, and films to watch, because he believes it’s important to have something to look forward to in life. I wonder how colorful and purposeful his life is. He’s not without direction. If I think ordinarily, I might say he’s too brave. But maybe we all should rethink. If we stop hoping or looking forward to something, then there is no goal. Later we can say there’s no achievement. What is meaningful in this life then? Read more about his view here.
